چکیده

When filtering through a wall with constant averaging radius, in addition to the subfilter scale stresses, a non-closed commutator term arises. We consider a proposal of Das and Moser to close the commutator error term by embedding it in an optimization probem. This report shows that this optimization based closure, with a small modification, leads to a well posed problem showing existence of a minimizer. We also derive the associated first order optimality conditions.

Numerical Solution of a Free Boundary Problem from Heat Transfer by the Second Kind Chebyshev Wavelets

In this paper we reduce a free boundary problem from heat transfer to a weakly Singular Volterra  integral equation of the first kind. Since the first kind integral equation is ill posed, and an appropriate method for such ill posed problems is based on wavelets, then we apply the Chebyshev wavelets to solve the integral equation. Numerical implementation of the method is illustrated by two ben...

A Comparative Study of Regulating the Filtering of Cyberspace in the US, the EU and China; Proposals for Policymaking in Iran

The crucial role of cyberspace attracted the special attention of the governments in different countries, which consider it both as a challenge and an opportunity. One of the key policies and preventive measures adopted concerning the challenges posed by the cyberspace is it regulation. In fact, there are only a few states have not taken any steps in regulating their cyberspace. This paper seek...

Nvestigation of a Boundary Layer Problem for Perturbed Cauchy-Riemann Equation with Non-local Boundary Condition

Boundary layer problems (Singular perturbation problems) more have been applied for ordinary differential equations. While this theory for partial differential equations have many applications in several fields of physics and engineering. Because of complexity of limit and boundary behavior of the solutions of partial differential equations these problems considered less than ordinary case. In ...

Special Subgroups of Gyrogroups: Commutators, Nuclei and Radical

‎A gyrogroup is a nonassociative group-like structure modelled on the ‎space of relativistically admissible velocities with a binary ‎operation given by Einstein's velocity addition law‎. ‎In this ‎article‎, ‎we present a few of groups sitting inside a gyrogroup G‎, ‎including the commutator subgyrogroup‎, ‎the left nucleus‎, ‎and the ‎radical of G‎. ‎The normal closure of the commutator subgyr...

On a Question of Sárkozy and Sós for Bilinear Forms

We prove that if 2 ≤ k1 ≤ k2, then there is no infinite sequenceA of positive integers such that the representation function r(n) = #{(a, a′) : n = k1a + k2a′, a, a′ ∈ A} is constant for n large enough. This result completes previous work of Dirac and Moser for the special case k1 = 1 and answers a question posed by Sárkozy and Sós.
